Gaillardia's Abundance

This acrylic painting was inspired by the beautiful Gaillardia flowers in our garden. It's common name 'blanket flowers' as the name suggests have become abundant in our garden and have an incredible long flowering season. I love their burst of bright vibrant colours, which I wanted to capture in this painting. It's always eventful painting so close to these flowers as they're a hive of activity for the bee's!
